What inspires me?
The short answer to this question is: My Life.
So many things inspire me, I honestly use everything. One of my favourite things about life is finding inspiration to better myself, but also to create the most beautiful and meaningful life that I can. Whatever happens: if someone hurts my feelings, if I had a bad day at work, everything and anything can inspire me. Just life. I think because life is constantly up and down, it gives so much inspiration no matter how good or bad things are, and for me that means there is always something to write about. I can be quiet at times, but even in those times where I’d rather keep to myself, there is always so much to say.
Inspiration is everywhere.
Things that inspire me on a daily basis are:
My ambition
My family and friends
Music
Nature
Traveling
Knowing that I have one life to do whatever it is that I want to do is amazing to me. It’s scary and exciting, but that feeling of knowing that it is completely up to me on how I choose to live is empowering. I can do it. I can do anything.
I’m an ambitious person. I like setting goals and I have ideas floating around in my head all the time. When I think of something, no matter how random it is, it inspires me to try and execute it in the best way I possibly can, and hey sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but I’m not the type of girl to give up on something without even trying.
People are also very inspiring. Whether that be my family, my friends, my colleagues. I get really inspired by other people. I like hearing stories about how someone grew up or what they’ve experienced. I value connection and quality, and my family and friends play a huge part in my life but also when it comes to inspiration.
My parents are amazing. Growing up I saw them work really hard to make sure that we were okay and my sisters and I could live a good life. I am so thankful for everything they’ve done and continue to do for me.
I have a small, close-knit of group friends and I’m so freaking grateful for them. They know who I am, they understand who I am and I just know that whatever I’m going through, they’ll be there and that’s a nice feeling.
Meeting new people can be very inspiring too, especially when you start hearing about their lives. It’s interesting. You can meet someone and you’re both living completely different lives, you’re completely different people, but you can relate to each other from certain things that you’ve been through, and I think that’s really beautiful because we’re all human at the end of the day and we go through similar things.
I also like following people on social media who post inspiring and interesting content. When I see people following their dreams and pursuing what they’re passionate about, it inspires me and it pushes me to be great and to keep setting goals for myself.
I don’t know what I’d do without music. I get so inspired by lyrics and I really listen to the words when I listen to a song, especially when I hear a song for the first time. Like if I'm in the car, and I’m in the passenger seat and I’m staring out the window, I’m listening very intently to the lyrics or I’m thinking about food.
As I’m getting older, I am becoming more of a naturehead and I think my love of being outside started during covid because when we were all at home I would go outside and sit in the backyard a lot - for me it’s one of the things that kept me sane. I like going outside because I feel like I’m able to clear my mind and it just helps me channel my creative energy. Sometimes I just need to be outdoors and breathe the fresh air.
When you step out of your comfort zone, you’re able to see so much more of the world, because people can get used to what they know and what they do on a regular basis and not really explore what else is out there. I see traveling as such a blessing and it’s definitely something I want to do more of the next few years. Visiting different places and adventuring inspires me because I'm seeing new things and experiencing life, and then I’m able to use that to create content and put that into an artform.
What I've been through and what I’m going through I would say are my main sources of inspiration, especially when it comes to writing. I’m very observant, I take a lot in, and I internalise a lot, so you can only imagine how many things are constantly running through my mind.
I think everyone on earth has a purpose. I aspire to inspire, and positively impact the world. That’s what matters and it’s important to me that I live to do that, and I will.
